Measuring instruments for hollow fiber membranes
Alpha Plan is a manufacturer of various measuring stands for performance measurement of membrane filters. They support the development of membrane fibers or their end products (e.g. dialyzers) and are a perfect addition for quality assurance for a membrane filter production. The benchtop units are compact and flexible to use.
1 – Measuring stand: ultrafiltration rate/clearance (dialyzer)
Application: Quality assurance in the manufacture and development of dialyzers
Measurement parameters:
Ultrafiltration rate (water), clearance (aqueous solutions) at 37°C
Measured good:
Dialyzers with Low Flux and High Flux Membranes
2 – Measuring stand: Hydraulic permeability (fiber)
Application: Quality assurance in the production and development of fibers for dialysis
Measurement parameters:
hydraulic permeability (water) at 37°C (analogous to UFR for modules)
Measured good:
Bundles with Low Flux / Mid Flux or High Flux membranes (approx. 200 dialysis membranes)
3 – Measuring stand: Permeability (fiber)
Application: Quality assurance in the production and development of fibers for dialysis
Measurement parameters:
hydraulic permeability (water) at 37°C (analogous to UFR for modules) and diffusive permeability (aqueous solution) at 37°C (analogous to clearance for dialyzers)
Measured good:
Bundles with Low Flux / Mid Flux or High Flux membranes (approx. 200 dialysis membranes)
4 – Measuring stand: sieve coefficient (fiber)
Application: Quality assurance in production and development of high flux fibers for dialysis or hemofiltration
Measurement parameters:
Sieving coefficient of albumin at 37°C
Measured good:
Minimodule with high flux membranes (approx. 200 dialysis membranes)
5 – Measuring stand: Elongation at break (fiber)
Application: Quality assurance in the manufacture and development of hollow fiber membranes
Measurement parameters:
Elongation at break / tensile strength of fibers
Measured good:
Single fibers or groups of fibers
6 – Measuring stand: Hydraulic permeability microfiltration membrane (fiber)
Application: Quality assurance in the production and development of microfiltration membranes (water or medicine: plasmapheresis)
Measurement parameters:
hydraulic permeability of the membrane
Measured good:
Single fibers or groups of fibers
7 – Measuring stand: Bubble Point (fiber)
Application: Quality assurance in production and development of microfiltration membranes (water or medicine: plasmapheresis) and also UF membranes
Measurement parameters:
max. pore size and pore size distribution
Measured good:
Single fibers
